The applicant said his mobile welding business does repair work only at customer sites, that welding at home is a hobby, and blamed a five-year personal feud with a neighbor for the complaints.

A woman from 111 Davis Drive said the trailer is always in the driveway, never on the street, and asked about storing it in the yard; the commission allowed storage behind the fence as an alternative.

The neighbor at 113 Davis Drive opposed the permit, citing arc flashes his young kids see from the driveway, grinding noise heard two to four times a week, welding odors, and trailers and vehicles blocking required parking.
